FINN GEHRSITZ VERSTÄRKT UNITED AUTOSPORTS IN DER LMP3 DER EUROPÄISCHEN LE-MANS-SERIE (ELMS)
Das Jahr 2022 könnte für Finn Gehrsitz bisher nicht besser laufen. Erst im Februar zeigte der 17-jährige AVL RACETECH Markenbotschafter sein Talent in der Asian Le Mans Serie. Heute können wir stolz verkünden, dass Finn Gehrsitz als einer der drei Fahrer für die diesjährige Europäische Le-Mans-Serie (ELMS) im #2 United Autosports Ligier JS P320 nominiert wurde.
Das Team ist mehrfacher Meisterschafts- und Rennsieger: 2020 gewann es die FIA World Endurance Championship und das 24-Stunden-Rennen von Le Mans sowie im selben Jahr den LMP2-Titel der European Le Mans Series und ist damit das erste Team, das alle drei Rennen im selben Jahr gewonnen hat. Darüber hinaus hat das Team auch dreimal die LMP3-Europameisterschaft der Le Mans Series und die LMP2- und LMP3-Meisterschaften der Asian Le Mans Series gewonnen.
Mit Unterstützung von AVL RACETECH, wurde Finn Gehrsitz bereits im vergangenen Jahr der jüngste Fahrer im Michelin Le Mans Cup, als er im Alter von 16 Jahren bei Phoenix Racing unterschrieb. Eine erfolgreiche Debütsaison brachte Finn seine erste Pole-Position in einem Prototyp, seinen ersten Rennsieg beim Saisonfinale in Portimão sowie einen Platz unter den ersten Vier in der Meisterschaftswertung.
Der 17-jährige Deutsche wird sich den Ligier JS P320 mit der Startnummer 2 mit den britischen Fahrern Bailey Voisin und Josh Caygill während der sechs Rennen der European Le Mans Series teilen, die am 11. und 12. April in Paul Ricard beginnt.
Alle drei Fahrer des #2 United Autosports Liger JS P320 haben gemeinsame GT-Rennerfahrung. Während Bailey im vergangenen Jahr für das Team in der GT4 European Series fuhr und sowohl die Fahrer- als auch die Teammeisterschaft gewann, fuhren Josh und Finn beide den Porsche 911 GT3 in verschiedenen Meisterschaften.
United Autosports bereitet sich auf den Prolog und das Eröffnungsrennen der European Le Mans Series 2022 in Paul Ricard vor, nachdem alle Fahreraufstellungen für diese Saison bestätigt sind.

FINN GEHRSITZ JOINS UNITED AUTOSPORTS ENTRY IN THE LMP3 EUROPEAN LE MANS SERIES (ELMS)
The year 2022 couldn’t be going better for Finn Gehrsitz so far. It was only in February that the 17-year-old AVL RACETECH brand ambassador showed his talent in the Asian Le Mans Series on a GT3 car. Today we can announce that Finn Gehrsitz has been nominated as one of the three drivers for this year’s European Le Mans Series in the #2 United Autosports Ligier JS P320.
The team is a multiple championship and race winner, having won the FIA World Endurance Championship and the Le Mans 24 Hours in 2020, along with clinching the European Le Mans Series LMP2 title the same year, making them the first team to have ever won all three in the same year. In addition, the team has also won the European Le Mans Series LMP3 Championship three times and the Asian Le Mans Series LMP2 and LMP3 Championships.
Supported by AVL RACETECH, Finn Gehrsitz became the youngest Michelin Le Mans Cup driver last year, when he signed for Phoenix Racing at the age of 16. A successful debut campaign brought Finn his first pole position in a prototype as well as a top four finish in the championship standings.
The 17-year-old German will share the #2 Ligier JS P320 with two British drivers, Bailey Voisin and Josh Caygill, throughout the six race European Le Mans Series which begins at Paul Ricard on 11-12th April.
All three drivers in the #2 United Autosports Liger JS P320 have shared GT racing experience. Whilst Bailey drove for the team last year in the GT4 European Series, winning both Drivers’ and Teams’ Championship, Josh and Finn have both raced the Porsche 911 GT3 in a variety of championships.
United Autosports set their sights on preparing for the prologue and opening round of the 2022 European Le Mans Series at Paul Ricard now that all their driver line-ups for this season are confirmed.
