Liebe Freunde der Automobilkultur, liebe Motorworld-Family, Motorworld-Fans und Weggefährten!

Wir starten in ein neues Jahr, mit aufregenden Themen, spannenden Aufgaben und Herausforderungen, die wir mit Enthusiasmus und viel Leidenschaft zur Mobilität angehen werden. Auch wenn das vergangene Jahr durch die Verlängerung der Corona-Pandemie eine besondere Herausforderung für alle war, haben wir 2021 gemeistert und gehen mit Zuversicht ins Jahr 2022. Die Sehnsucht nach Mobilität, nach Abwechslung und Erlebnissen war nie größer als jetzt. Für mich persönlich war nach zwölf Jahren Entwicklungs- und Bauzeit die Eröffnung der Motorworld München im vergangenen Frühling eines der Highlights des Jahres 2021. Man kann sicher erahnen, wie sehr wir diesen Schritt in der Geschichte unserer Standorte herbeigesehnt hatten. Das 75.000 qm große Areal im historischen Ausbesserungswerk der Deutschen Bahn in die Neuzeit zu holen, war ein forderndes und herausragendes Projekt zugleich. Wie gut es gelungen ist, kann man daran erkennen, dass wir für Deutschland gleich zweifach mit dem 1. Platz ausgezeichnet wurden und den international renommierten European Property Award 2021-2022 in den Kategorien „Sanierung und Revitalisierung Gewerbe-Immobilien“ und „Mischnutzung Gewerbe-Immobilien“ gewinnen konnten.

Nachdem 2009 die Motorworld Region Stuttgart, 2018 die Motorworld Köln-Rheinland und nun auch München in Vollbetrieb sind, richten wir unseren Blick vorwärts, um die teilaktiven und in Planung befindlichen Locations wie die Motorworld Zeche Ewald/Ruhr, Luxembourg und Mallorca voranzubringen und die Motorworld Manufakturen in Berlin, Metzingen, Rüsselsheim und Zürich nach Kräften weiterzubringen. An allen Standorten sind wir dabei bestens unterwegs. In Zeiten wie diesen, sind Macher gefordert und Menschen mit Ideen und Durchhaltevermögen. Das ist unser Anspruch. Wir ahnen bereits die Hürden, die uns die Pandemie auch in diesem Jahr wieder stellen wird, aber wir packen es an mit Tatendrang und Zuversicht.

Wir stecken schon in den Vorbereitungen und arbeiten an der Fortsetzung erfolgreicher Formate wie den ‚Motorworld Trackdays‘, des ‚Motorworld Buchpreises´, ‚Formel 1 in Schule‘, den beliebten ‚Motortreffs‘, der ‚Olympia Rallye 72 – Motorworld Revival‘ und des ‚Motorworld Carspotter Awards‘. Wir planen einen großen Gemeinschaftsstand auf der Messe Retro Classics in Stuttgart im März, gefolgt von der Motorworld Classics Bodensee im Mai und den Motorworld Oldtimertagen inFürstenfeld im September. Die Welt ist im Wandel und auch wir von der Motorworld sehen uns in der Verantwortung. Nachhaltigkeit ist in diesem Zusammenhang eine der wichtigsten Währungen geworden. Mit der Revitalisierung vorhandener Gebäude leisten wir einen wichtigen Beitrag dazu. Und durch den Einsatz regenerativen Energieanlagen können wir alle Motorworld-Standorte selbst im Vollbetrieb als klimaneutral bezeichnen. Übrigens, unsere Unternehmensgruppe produziert ca. 25 Megawatt regenerative Energie pro Jahr. Sicher ist, dass gerade und ganz besonders auch in Zukunft gefahren, gehandelt, angeboten, produziert, beraten, verkauft, gereist, gefeiert und konsumiert wird. Dear friends of automotive culture, dear Motorworld family, fans and companions!

We will be beginning the new year with exciting topics, and enthralling tasks and challenges which we will tackle with enthusiasm and much passion for mobility. Even though last year was extremely challenging for everyone on account of the longer-lasting Covid pandemic, we have mastered 2021 and are facing 2022 with confidence. The longing for mobility, diversion and experiences has never been greater than it is now. For me personally, the opening of Motorworld München last spring after twelve years of development and construction work was one of the highlights of 2021. One can surely imagine just how much we had yearned to take this step in the history of our locations. The modernisation of the site of the historic German Railways repair shop with its 75,000 square metres was both a demanding and an outstanding project. How well this has succeeded is borne out by the fact that we were twice awarded 1st place for Germany in the internationally renowned 2021/2022 European Property Awards in the categories „Commercial Redevelopment / Renovation“ and „Mixed-use Development“.

Following on from the start of operations at Motorworld Region Stuttgart in 2009, Motorworld Köln-Rheinland in 2009 and now also Motorworld München, we are looking ahead to taking the partially active and planned locations at Motorworlds Zeche Ewald/Ruhr, Luxembourg and Mallorca through to the next stages and to doing everything in our power to further develop the Motorworld manufactories in Berlin, Metzingen, Rüsselsheim and Zurich. Things are progressing extremely well at all the locations. Times such as these call for doers and people with ideas and perseverance. That is our aspiration. We can already anticipate the hurdles that we will face again this year due to the pandemic, but we will take them with vigour and confidence.

We are already in the middle of the preparations and are working on the continuation of successful formats such as the ‚Motorworld Trackdays‘, the ‚Motorworld Buchpreis‘, ‚Formula 1 in der Schule‘, the popular ‚Motortreffs‘, the ‚Olympia Rallye 72 – Motorworld Revival‘ and the ‚Motorworld Carspotter Awards‘. We are planning a large joint booth at the Retro Classics trade fair in Stuttgart in March, followed in May by Motorworld Classics Bodensee and the Motorworld Oldtimertage in Fürstenfeld in September. The world is in transformation, and we at Motorworld also have a responsibility to bear. Sustainability has become one of the most crucial currencies in this respect. Here we are making an important contribution by revitalising existing buildings. And through the use of regenerative energy systems, we can attest that all the Motorworld locations are climate neutral even in full operation. Incidentally, our corporate group produces around 25 megawatts of renewable energy per year. What is certain is that driving, trading, offering, producing, consulting, selling, travelling, celebrating and consuming will continue especially in the future. We look forward to keeping you informed in the 2022 issues of the Motorworld Bulletin about all the events at the Motorworld locations, fascinating new tenants and partners of the Motorworld family.
